Sources of GREAT ADVICE for introducing NEW IDEAS
If you want some great advice about introducing your NEW IDEAS, study those who have achieved success. Thomas Edison's Innovation Insight (see right) defines the criteria nicely. You want to study new ideas that have been sold successfully. Think of sold in this case, as broad-based acceptance of a new idea. Below are a few thoughts on what to look for...

  • Identify 2-3 success stories.
    Cast a broad net. Consider innovative products, programs, services, and ideas that achieved success/results.
  • Look for success stories outside of your industry.
    Examine their patterns of innovation.
  • Watch for distinctive qualities.
    Discover what these innovators have in common in how they introduce their new offerings (e.g., consider such things as simplicity, usefulness, approach, presentation)
    .
  • Put your findings to work.
    Use your findings as a guide to take your own approach to introducing your new idea to a new level of innovation
